my first term in retrospect: Bosnia and Herzegovina

My very first term in TGS was in Sarajevo, the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Looking back on this term almost three years later, it’s safe to say that i was a very different person. My term in Bosnia, while relatively easy in comparison to other terms, was extremely difficult for me. I was simply less resilient, and things like a long walk or a cold shower was enough to upset me. A part of me wants to laugh at my old self, almost as if I couldn’t fathom what it felt like to be bothered by such things. However, I’ve decided to look at my first term as an achievement. While my experiences back then may have been tame compared to one’s I would have in the future, it was still tough for me. Instead of berating my younger self, I try to pat her back, and let her know that she is much stronger than she believes.
